| Greetings! Here is my last-minute attempt to get you all involved with HOMEWARD BOUND - Indiana's 5K Walk to Provide Housing and Fight Homelessness. This fundraising walk-a-thon takes place on Saturday, April 29, 2007 at the College Football Hall of Fame in downtown South Bend. It is one of eight walks statewide that will raise more than $500,000 for local homeless and affordable housing programs. Dollars raise locally will STAY LOCAL to provide services such as shelter, food, and other needed support services for Indiana's homeless citizens. Many of you may know that I have the joy of working for Hope Rescue Mission in South Bend. Hope has been serving men, women and children in need for the past 53 years. Reasons for homelessness are incalculable, as each person that arrives at our doors comes with their own story. It is an honor to work for Hope, where substance abuse recovery, adult education, child development, mental and physical health care, job training, meals and housing are available, all centered on Christ-centered life transformation. You can help me reach my individual goal of raising at least $1000 for Hope Rescue Mission by going to www.homelesswalks.org, clicking on "North Central Indiana," clicking on "Sponsor Participant" and making a contribution by credit card. You can also make a contribution by check or cash by mailing it to my attention at: Hope Rescue Mission P.O. Box 4488 South Bend, IN 46634 Please make checks payable to "HOMEWARD BOUND." You can also join the Hope Rescue Mission team by registering to walk with us through the same website mentioned above. Thank you in advance for your help! Your gifts will be directly supporting this mission and ministry, and on behalf of all those served by Hope- I sincerely thank you! Peace to you, Sarah

| well, I'm about 30 years and/or 10 years behind, depending on how you look at it. but thanks be to God, it is never too late. i, sarah, have discovered the Force. Lord bless me for not having discovered it when i was still young and all-too maliable, for i probably would have dressed like queen amadala for prom and demanded that my school offer a wookie language class.
in a moment of weakness and/or unbelievable strength while brandon and i had stayed home from work for a sick day, i spoke up with a timid voice... "brandon....i'm ready for star wars." joel boehner opening up his nintendo 64 on Christmas morning is the only image that comes close to the joy of my husband (note: space balls is the closest i have ever come to watching any of the VI episodes of star wars).
this event took place about a week ago, and I am already ready for the final viewing- episode VI. I'm sure there's heat over whether or not it's cheating to watch the recently released prequels prior to the trilogy of sequels. even if it is cheating, i confess, and i believe i am a better woman because of it. 1-3 softend my heart for what was to come. i am now able to see lord vader with eyes, not of judgement and contempt, but of pity and a longing for what once was.
and so it is, i am a star wars fan. if there were ever a movie marathon of all 6 episodes at the theatre, i would probably camp out, probably invest in a light saber and probably wear buns. please hold me accountable if i go to far. i did notice in a conversation with jen the other day that i said something along hte lines of: "jen, i'm just really trying to be more and more patient with my job. i know that patience is imperative for a jedi, and so i'm just going to really try..."
i hope that everyone is well! sorry for being distant for so long. i'd be lying if i said i'll post again soon.... farewell!

| CHH CHH CHANGES! oh mr. bowie, you describe my life so eloquently.
a tale from life at the herbster house/sorority. its 11 or so pm on sunday night- graduation day. i stumble into the house, dreary eyed and tired from a day of trying to make bosom friends out of my family and brandon's family. i crash on one of our big black leather chairs. jen, em, & lindsey are on the floor playing boggle w/ about as much energy and enthusiam as catatonic old ladies. though im not playing and i really dont care about the game, i keep apathetically interjecting w/ "thats not a real word" or "that doesnt count." charissa stumbles in bearing a roll of processed cookie dough. next thing we know, we're dancing and thrashing around to david bowie. no one is hardly conscious of what the other is doing b/c we're dancing so rhythmically, yet obscurely and violently like we were all having fits of dance fever. about three songs later, we all get the impression that the fit has ceased, the dancing slows, we mumble good night, and stumble up the stairs to bed. happy graduation.
| this was a great movie. if you love becky from roseanne and warren from empire records, you will also love this movie.
the sun is out, daffodils are growing outside of my office, im almost medicine-free, i'm graduating in 25 days, and my fiance is a tax-doing extraordinaire who somehow got me a very generous tax return check. how sweet it is...
| if you ever need to get your heart pumpin' and your head bangin' early in the morn when youre putting the final grueling touches on a paper that you have agonized over for a total of 9 months, i would suggest kelly clarkson's "since u been gone." trust me on this one.
it seems that i will be rewarded for my efforts tomorrow, when i get to go to an American Girl tea party in Chicago with my new mama inlaw, sister inlaw, and nieces. and a miss jenny mcD will be coming home with us and staying for the weekend!
"your eyes they sparkle but thats all changed, since the lies that drop like acid rain..." - kelly c. man, she's poetically BRILLIANT. hahahahaha
